Ewan MacLeod created a Visual Art video for Australian band Cut Copy.

This video although a little old (it’s still in 480p) is still an incredibly artistic piece, and the songs electronic vibe mixes in well with the paint palette. The coolest thing about this video, is the slow reveal of all the different layers. Starting with an almost completed covered white face, the reversed stop motion reveals a bright array of colours to get the audience intrigued.

If you’ve seen videos like Dave Kaufman’s Tall Painting or even more recently the Ferrari California T’s State of the Art, you’ll thoroughly enjoy this paint pouring video. If you don’t like watching paint dry (or poured in this case), you’ll more than likely dig it because it’s played in and unpredictable reverse. This piece of art is especially cool because it has the added addition of a life form and not just a static object.

Cut Copy are an indie electronic group from Melbourne and take many of their cues from contemporaries like Air, Daft Punk, and LCD Soundsystem. They have however created a distinctive “pop sensibility that draws on classic AM radio pop singles from the 1970s and ’80s”. According to MTV you could compare them to bands like The Presets, Midnight Juggernauts and Empire of the Sun. If however you’re someone not into this kind of music then I would recommend you either play this video on mute, and I guess you could even throw something on in the background.

Pretty much: This video is amazing and you should have already watched it by now!
