The Simpsons probably seem like a weird thing to write about, but I’ve got a blog to run and I just got tagged in this video on Facebook.

Paul Robertson and Ivan Dixon are the creators of this video and it’s an absolute treat to watch. The first time I saw it, I had the video on mute but as I begun writing this post, I thought I should probably re-watch it and that’s when I noticed the incredible musical score by Jeremy Dower.

From start to finish; this video is entertaining to watch. Pixelated art, has kind of always floated around however, this video has taken off on YouTube (1,279,000+ views in 2 days) and I’m certain that’s because it’s connected to the Simpsons.

For anyone (everyone) that watches the Simpsons, this two-ish minute long video contains lots of inside jokes and gags. But even if you live under a rock and have never seen an episode of the ‘longest-running American scripted primetime television series’ you’ll still appreciate the glimpse of an arcade game that needs to happen..

Regardless, this piece of work is truly amazing and would’ve taken the artists a bunch of time to make and if you didn’t watch it before reading this post then you should pause and go do that………..

Righto.

This video is going to be a whole load of nostalgia for anyone who played video games between 1987–1996, or basically anyone older than me. I still appreciate the style of this Simpsons intro even though I’ve never even played a 16-bit video game.

The end of this video ties in with just how I was feeling at the time I created my first blog post, put simply it’s fucked.
